How to back-up your wallet on Klever Extension

Klever Extension is your door to the Web3. It is a secure and anonymous multi-crypto wallet to store crypto-assets and connect to dApps on several blockchains.

This tutorial shows how to back-up your wallet inside Klever Extension. It covers two points:

  • How to back-up the seed of your wallet
  • How to back-up the private key of an account

How to back-up the seed of your wallet

Each multi-crypto wallet on Klever Extension has a 24-word seed, which can be used to restore your wallet on any device. So, in case of a problem or to migrate your wallet into a new device, you require the 24-word seed. The 24-word seed enables you to restore all your related accounts on all blockchains. The following steps show how to back-up the 24-word seed of your wallet.

Step 1: From the main page, click on the Settings icon from the upper-right corner.

Step 2: Under Settings, click on Privacy and Security.

Step 3: Click on Reveal Seed Phrase.

Step 4: After carefully reading the Security Alert, input your password and click on Proceed button.

Step 5: Verify that no one is watching, and click on Show Seed Phrase to reveal the 24 words. Carefully, write down the 24-word seed in a piece of paper, then click on Done button.

Warning
NEVER SHARE 24-word seed with anyone, even with Klever Support agent. > Also, do not input your 24-word seed in any website or fake extension. If you > share the 24-word seed with any person, then he/she can steal your funds.

Notice
Store your 24-word seed in a safe place. If you lose your 24-word seed, then > you cannot recover it or retrieve your funds.

How to back-up the private key of an account

All the accounts in your wallet on Klever Extension are linked to the same 24-word seed. However, each account has a unique private key. Although the 24-word seed enables you to recover all your accounts, it is a good practice to also back-up the private keys of all accounts, one by one. The following steps show how to back-up the private key of a certain account.

Step 1: From the main page, click on the Settings icon from the upper-right corner.

Step 2: Under Settings, click on Privacy and Security.

Step 3: Click on Reveal Private Keys.

Step 4: After carefully reading the Warning, confirm that you understand the threat of revealing your wallet secrets to any person, input your password, then click on Proceed button.

Step 5: Select target account which you want to back-up its private key.

Step 7: Store the private key of your account somewhere safe, and you are done!

Note
The private key of a certain account enables you to recover only that account. Each account has a unique private key, but all accounts share the same 24-word seed.
