Understanding Your Wallet Security
When you first set up Klever Wallet, you’ll receive a 24-word recovery phrase (SEED). This SEED is the master key to your entire wallet-it can restore all your accounts across every blockchain supported by K5 Wallet, including both your main accounts and any additional accounts you’ve created under the same SEED.
The Relationship Between SEED and Private Keys
While all your accounts are derived from the same 24-word SEED, each individual account has its own unique Private Key. This Private Key is what actually controls that specific account on the blockchain. Think of your SEED as a master password and your Private Keys as individual account passwords-both are critical to your security.
Best Practice: Dual Backup Strategy
For maximum security and recovery options, we strongly recommend maintaining backups of both:
-
Your 24-word SEED phrase (restores all accounts)
-
The individual Private Keys for each of your accounts (provides account-level recovery)
Critical Security Warnings
-
Never share your SEED or Private Keys with anyone- including Klever Support team members. Legitimate support staff will never ask for this information.
-
Store your SEED and Private Keys in a secure, offline location- consider using a hardware wallet, encrypted storage, or a physical safe.
-
Klever cannot recover lost credentials- For your protection, Klever does not store copies of your SEED or Private Keys. If you lose them, your funds become permanently inaccessible with no recovery option available.
You can backup the Seed phrase as follows:
Step 1:** Tap on the HUB from the Bottom-Right corner of the Portfolio screen. Tap on Security Settings , tap on Reveal seed phrase.
Step 2:** Carefully read the SECURITY ALERT, and enable the toggle by confirming that you understand the risk of revealing your Account’s secrets to others, tap on the Okay I got it! button. Tap on Show seed to backup the seed phrase.
You can backup the Private keys of Individual Blockchain account as follows:
Step 1:** Tap on the HUB from the Bottom-Right corner of the Portfolio screen. Tap on Security Settings , tap on Reveal Account private keys.
Step 2:** Carefully read the SECURITY ALERT, and enable the toggle by confirming that you understand the risk of revealing your Account’s secrets to others, tap on the Okay I got it! button. Select the blockchain and then tap on show Private key. You have the option to copy the Private Key to Clipboard, however, the best practice is to write them down on a piece of paper.
