My friend hasn’t checked crypto for very long time and hasn’t updated to the new wallet. The old wallet doesn’t seem to work any more. She has the 12-seed passwords. Can she use that to restore in a new wallet?

sure, the user can install the Klever 5 Version and recover the 12 seed words during the first start.
But keep in mind its more secure to create new 24 words.
Just search the forum, we do have helpful posts about all those steps.
