Quick overview

  • Bitcoin-only Wallet = single-chain wallet (pure Bitcoin experience, Lightning support ).

  • Multichain Wallet = supports multiple blockchains/tokens.

  • Both require: choosing wallet type → create (or restore) → set PIN → generate seed (24 words) → confirm seed → wallet ready.

    Before you start (safety notes)

  • Write down your seed (24 or 12 words) on paper - do not store it in cloud storage, photos, notes apps, or anywhere online.

  • Do not share your seed with anyone. Anyone with the seed controls your funds.

  • If you lose your seed you will lose access permanently - the app does not store it for you.

  • Avoid doing this on a compromised device or public Wi-Fi if possible.

    • Each word separated by a space

  2. The app usually requires you to either:

    • Tap the correct words in order, or

    • Re-type the full 24-word phrase (depending on UI flow).

  3. Complete the check exactly as prompted. Then tap Continue / Confirm.

8) Finalize and return to portfolio

  1. After successful confirmation the app completes setup and returns you to the Portfolio screen.

  2. Your new account(s) will appear (for Bitcoin-only you’ll see BTC and Lightning; for Multichain you’ll see BTC, ETH, or other chains depending on default accounts).

Differences between the two flows (where to pay attention)

  • At the very first screen: choose Bitcoin-only Wallet if you want a wallet focused on Bitcoin + Lightning. Choose Multichain Wallet if you want multiple chains/tokens available.

  • Accounts shown after creation:

    • Bitcoin-only will present a Bitcoin account and Lightning (the app supports Lightning).

    • Multichain will create multiple chain accounts or give you the option to add them later.

  • Functionality after setup: Multichain lets you add/manage tokens and networks. Bitcoin-only keeps the interface simpler and tuned to BTC/Lightning flows.
