How to migrate from Klever Wallet to K5 Wallet

K5 Wallet is everything one needs in a crypto wallet. The K5 architecture allows for many new features that were unattainable in the Klever Wallet architecture.

To migrate from Klever Wallet (version 4) to K5 Wallet, you have:

  1. Back up your 12-words Seed using Klever Wallet

  2. Restore your Accounts inside K5 Wallet

Notice!
No need to uninstall Klever Wallet from your device before installing K5 Wallet. You can have both Klever Wallet and K5 Wallet on the same device, at the same time.

How to back up your 12-words Seed using Klever Wallet?

The following steps show how to back up your secret 12-words Seed inside Klever Wallet.

Step 1: Tap on the Settings icon from the bottom-right corner. Then, tap on Backup wallet under the Security section.

Step 2: Input your PIN code. Then, confirm that you understand the risk of revealing your wallet’s secrets to others, and tap on Next button. After that, carefully read the displayed notice, and tap on Okay I got it! button.

Step 3: Tap on Main Account. Then, go under SEED tab and tap on the Copy icon to copy your 12-words to the Clipboard.


How to restore your Accounts inside K5 Wallet?

The following steps show how to restore your Accounts inside K5 Wallet using your 12-words Seed.

Step 1: Launch the Klever app. On the initial screen you’ll see two large choices at the bottom:

  • Bitcoin-only Wallet (for Bitcoin + Lightning)

  • Multichain Wallet (for many blockchains)

Tap the card for the wallet type you want to create ( Select Multichain Wallet). Tap on I already have a wallet - restore using an existing recovery phrase and then assign a security PIN

Step 2: Confirm your pin, Tap on Restore from seed/Restore from backup file button to restore your wallet using its 12/24-words SEED.

Step 3: Enable the tokens you want to be listed on your portfolio, tap on next and confirm to see the portfolio.

Notice!

After restore, you will only see your Main Accounts. If you had created any additional Accounts under the same Seed, then you have to manually restore them.
