Moonbeam Network is leaving Polkadot. The project has announced a full migration to Base (Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer 2). Both GLMR and MOVR are moving 1:1 to Base as native ERC‑20 tokens — same amount, same address, no migration fee, no claim form.
Deadline: July 31, 2026. After this date the Moonbeam chain winds down. Tokens left behind on Moonbeam or Moonriver — including funds locked in DeFi protocols — may become permanently inaccessible. No bridge provider will be able to rescue stuck assets.
Do you hold GLMR or MOVR in Klever Wallet?
Good news: the entire migration can be done from inside Klever Wallet. The official Moonbeam bridge loads in the in-app browser, and you can connect your Klever Wallet directly. Your tokens arrive automatically at the same 0x address on Base. MOVR takes one extra hop (via Moonbeam) — the full guide walks you through it.
Full step-by-step guide: see How to migrate GLMR and MOVR to Base with Klever Wallet in the Wallet section — including the MOVR two-step bridge, gas costs, contract addresses, and how to enable the tokens on Base in your portfolio.
Before you bridge
- Withdraw from DeFi first: liquidity pools, lending markets, and staking contracts. Unbond staked tokens and claim any crowdloan rewards.
- Foreign assets are NOT migrated: tokens from other chains (DOT, bridged USDC, etc.) must be bridged back to their origin chains separately — before the deadline.
- On an exchange? No action needed — exchanges handle the migration automatically. Watch for their announcements.
Stay safe. Only use the official bridge at migrate.portal.moonbeam.network and contract addresses published by official Moonbeam sources. Scammers actively abuse migrations with fake bridge sites and fake contract addresses. Klever will never DM you or ask for your seed phrase.
