Moonbeam Network is migrating from Polkadot to Base (Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer 2). Both GLMR and MOVR move 1:1 to Base as native ERC‑20 tokens, same amount, same address, no migration fee, no claim form. This guide shows you how to complete the migration entirely from inside Klever Wallet using the in-app browser.
Deadline: July 31, 2026. After this date the Moonbeam chain winds down. Tokens left behind on Moonbeam or Moonriver, including funds locked in DeFi protocols, may become permanently inaccessible. No bridge provider can rescue stuck assets after the deadline.
Before you bridge
- Tokens in DeFi? Withdraw everything to your own wallet first: liquidity pools, lending markets, and staking contracts. Unbond staked tokens (mind the unbonding period) and claim any crowdloan rewards.
- Foreign assets are NOT migrated. Tokens from other chains sitting on Moonbeam (DOT, bridged USDC, etc.) must be bridged back to their origin chains separately, also before the deadline.
- Holding on an exchange? No action needed. Exchanges handle the migration automatically, watch for their announcements.
Part 1: Migrate GLMR
- Open the Browser tab from the bottom menu of Klever Wallet and go to
https://migrate.portal.moonbeam.network/migrator#bridge - Tap Connect wallet and connect your Klever Wallet. The portal can add the Moonbeam network for you with one tap.
- Enter the amount of GLMR to bridge, or tap MAX. The MAX button automatically reserves enough GLMR for the delivery gas, do not try to bridge your entire balance manually, or the transfer will strand without gas.
- Check the Receive on Base field. Leave it as is, your 0x address is identical on Moonbeam and Base, so the tokens arrive at the same address in the same wallet.
- Sign the transaction. Your GLMR is locked on Moonbeam and arrives automatically on Base. Done, no claim form, no second step.

Part 2: Migrate MOVR (two steps)
MOVR lives on Moonriver, which the bridge cannot reach directly. The migration takes two hops:
MOVR · Moonriver → xcMOVR · Moonbeam → MOVR · Base
- Open the Browser tab from the bottom menu of Klever Wallet and go to
https://migrate.portal.moonbeam.network/migrator#movr - Add both networks to your wallet using the one-tap buttons on the portal: Moonriver (hop 1) and Moonbeam (hop 2).
- Move your MOVR onto Moonbeam: connect your wallet, enter the MOVR amount and your Moonbeam recipient address (your own 0x address), and tap Send MOVR via XCM. Sign once , the MOVR arrives on Moonbeam as xcMOVR (the same MOVR, 1:1) within a minute or two. Already holding xcMOVR on Moonbeam? Skip this step.
- Bridge your xcMOVR to Base: approve once, then sign. MOVR arrives 1:1 at your address on Base.
Keep a little GLMR in your wallet. The cross-chain gas for step 4 is paid in GLMR, not MOVR, roughly 7.5 GLMR delivery cost plus a ~0.1 GLMR lock fee. There is no migration fee.
Part 3: See your tokens on Base in Klever Wallet
- Tap the (+) icon in the top right corner of your Portfolio screen.
- Select Base as the blockchain first, this avoids confusion with the old native GLMR (Moonbeam) and MOVR (Moonriver) tokens.
- Search for GLMR or MOVR and toggle the token on.
If the token is not in the default list yet, add it manually: tap Menu (bottom-right) → Custom Tokens → select Base → enter the contract address → tap Add.

Verify your migration
The portal’s Verify page shows the live bridge status, the official token and bridge contract addresses, and one-tap Add GLMR / Add MOVR buttons for wallets that support adding tokens directly. You can also look up your address on basescan.org to confirm the tokens arrived.
FAQ
What happens if I miss the July 31 deadline?
The Moonbeam chain winds down and tokens left behind may become permanently inaccessible. Late or unusual cases are handled by the Moonbeam Foundation, there is no guaranteed recovery.
Do I need ETH on Base to receive my tokens?
No, the tokens arrive automatically. Keep a small amount of ETH on Base (~$1–2) for any later transactions like sending or swapping.
I migrated, but I don’t see my tokens in Klever Wallet.
Make sure you enabled the Base version of the token in the token filter (Part 3), not the old native token. If the balance still doesn’t show, try adding a small amount of ETH (Base) to the wallet and check again, you’ll need it for network fees anyway.
Can I bridge other tokens (DOT, USDC, …) with this bridge?
No. The migration bridge only handles GLMR and MOVR. Other assets must go back to their origin chains through their own bridges before the deadline.
Stay safe. Only use the official bridge at migrate.portal.moonbeam.network and the contract addresses above. Scammers actively abuse migrations with fake bridge sites and fake contract addresses. Klever will never DM you or ask for your seed phrase.
