Update: Action Plan & Remediation Progress

To the Klever Community,

We want to provide a direct update on our ongoing action plan regarding the recent NFT Marketplace exploit. Our team has been working continuously to restore services safely, reinforce network security, and track the exploited funds.

Here is where we currently stand and our roadmap for the coming days:

1. Bridge Operations

  • ETH → KLV Restored: We have successfully re-enabled the ETH to KLV bridge direction. We are currently monitoring its usage and stability closely.

  • KLV → ETH: If all system checks remain nominal, we plan to restore the KLV to ETH direction later this week.

2. Roadmap for This Week

Our technical priorities for the week include:

  • Bitcoin.me: Restoring full operations on the bitcoin.me exchange.

  • Rebalancing: Executing a structural rebalance for bitcoin.me.

  • Swap: Re-enabling the KLV Swap functionality.

  • Active Monitoring: Deploying a new active monitoring tool across the network to track on-chain behavior.

  • Burn Procedure (Proposal): Submitting a formal network proposal outlining the exact procedure to burn the “off-the-books” KLV (the artificially generated tokens that bypassed the standard supply accounting). This process will be entirely public to ensure full transparency regarding the supply adjustment.

  • Buyback Program: Initiating the planned KLV Buyback Program to counteract market pressure.

3. Future Prevention: Native Sanitary Checks

To ensure this class of exploit cannot happen again, we are engineering an active, native “sanitary check” directly into the protocol. This safeguard will rigorously evaluate the math of transaction inputs versus outputs at the settlement layer. If any anomaly is detected, the protocol will automatically revert the transaction.

4. Investigation & Exchange Status

Our investigation into the fund flow remains highly active. At this time, we have only fully confirmed the hacker’s deposits, movements, and liquidations on KuCoin.

We are continuing to work alongside our other exchange partners to analyze the remaining suspected deposit addresses.

We deeply appreciate your continued trust, scrutiny, and patience as we navigate this and rebuild. We will provide further updates as soon as new milestones are reached or new information becomes available.
