Hello Klever Community!
I’m Deborah Enyone Oni, and I’m based in Lagos, Nigeria, the heart of Africa’s tech and innovation hub.
What excites me most about Web3 is the decentralization and the empowerment of individuals which creates huge opportunitiesfor women thereby fostering women inclusion in the space. We’re moving from a world where a few control everything to one where everyone has a say and can truly own their assets. It’s a whole new frontier where innovation and collaboration drive progress, and it’s inspiring to witness how communities are reshaping the way we think about finance, ownership, and even governance.
I got into the Web3 space through my husband’s participation in the cryptocurrency space some years back. When I started in the Blockchain space, I realised the immutability, transparency and efficiency it offers for things like data security, contracts, data ownership, and its intersection with law, and it blew my mind. I started diving deeper, and before I knew it, I was down the rabbit hole, learning about DAOs, Dmart Contracts, DeFi, NFTs, Metaverse and everything in between. The idea that we could use technology to solve real-world problems in a decentralized way really sparked my passion, and I’ve been all in ever since.
A fun fact about me is that I’m a lawyer who absolutely loves tech. I combine my legal expertise with blockchain and the web 3, while learning, relearning and upskilling to be able to build real world solutions leveraging blockchain technology. I’m a huge advocate for women’s inclusion in tech, having empowered about 5,000 women to get into blockchain through my internship/mentorship program.
My biggest advice to the Klever community is: Don’t be afraid to experiment. Web3 is still new, and there’s so much to learn, but also so much to build. Whether you’re a developer, creator, or just curious, the best way to grow is by getting your hands dirty and staying open to change. The possibilities are endless, and the only way to find your path is by exploring and trying new things.
Right now, I’m really excited about DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations). They have the capability of changing how we structure businesses, communities, and even governance in ways we cannot yet fully imagine. Also, the way smart contracts are evolving to streamline processes without needing intermediaries has me constantly thinking about how this can reshape the legal industry.
Looking forward to connecting with everyone in the community.
