How to use WalletConnect to connect dApps using Klever Wallet

WalletConnect is an open-source protocol that allows you to connect decentralized applications (dApps) to mobile wallets using end-to-end encryption by scanning a QR code or clicking a deep link. It’s commonly used in the crypto and Web3 space to securely link your wallet (like MetaMask, Trust Wallet, etc.) to a dApp (like Uniswap, OpenSea, etc.) without exposing your private keys.

Key Features:

  • Secure Connection: Communicates via a bridge server, but encrypts the session to protect data.
  • Mobile-first: Ideal for connecting desktop dApps with mobile wallets.
  • Multi-platform: Works on mobile, web, and desktop platforms.
  • Interoperable: Supports many different wallets and blockchain networks.

How It Works (Simplified):

  1. A dApp generates a WalletConnect URI.
  2. You scan the QR code with your wallet app or click a deep link.
  3. The wallet prompts you to approve the connection.
  4. Once approved, the dApp and wallet communicate securely.

Common Use Cases:

  • Signing transactions (e.g., swaps, mints)
  • Connecting wallet accounts to dApps
  • Managing blockchain identities or assets
