How to Trade Tokens on Bitcoin.me DEX

Bitcoin.me features a powerful DEX for users who prefer self-custody. Using the Bitcoin.me DEX, you can seamlessly exchange cryptocurrencies directly from your Klever Extension. Swapping on a DEX means you interact directly with smart contracts, keeping full custody of your assets without relying on a centralized intermediary.

If you want to swap external assets like USDT (TRC20 or ERC20) for specific ecosystem tokens like DVK, a direct trading pair may not always be available. To complete this trade, you will need to use KLV- the foundational token of the ecosystem - as a bridge. Simply swap your USDT for KLV first, and then perform a second swap using the specific KLV/DVK trading pair to receive your desired tokens.

Swapping tokens directly from your self-custody wallet is quick and secure on the Bitcoin.me DEX. In this example, we will look at swapping KLV for KFI.

Prerequisite: Ensure your Klever Extension is unlocked and connected to the Bitcoin.me platform.

  1. Select Your Tokens: On the Trade page, use the two input panels to set up your swap. Click “Select Token” in the top box to choose the asset you want to trade from (e.g., KLV). Then, click “Select Token” in the bottom box to choose the asset you want to receive (e.g., KFI).

  2. Enter the Swap Amount: Type the amount of the first token you wish to swap (e.g., 5,000 KLV). The DEX will automatically calculate the estimated amount of the second token you will receive based on current liquidity.

  3. Review Trade Details: Before proceeding, review the transaction details provided below the input fields. This includes the Exchange Rate, Minimum Received, Network Fee, and Price Impact.

  4. Initiate the Swap: Once you are satisfied with the details, click the orange “Trade” button.

  5. Sign the Transaction: Your connected Klever Extension will automatically open a prompt. Carefully review the transaction information (including Kapp and Bandwidth fees) and click “Sign” to authorize the swap.

  6. Confirmation: A “Transaction Complete” pop-up will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen once the blockchain confirms the swap. You can click the arrow icon on this pop-up to view the transaction hash details.

  7. Verify in Your History: To double-check your transaction status, click “History” in the top navigation menu. Select “View History” under the General Transactions section. You will see your recent swap listed (under the method multiPairSwap) with a green “Success” badge.
